Virginia City School Days
The Virginia City Civil War Days typically kicks off with a specialized School Day on the Friday prior to the main weekend event. Geared toward local students and homeschoolers, this educational day transforms Miner’s Park into an 1860s living history camp, offering interactive stations, historical interpreters, soldier drills, and field surgeon demonstrations (when available). Volunteers are welcome!

Virginia City Civil War Days
The main event continues through the weekend and usually concludes on Labor Day, featuring:

Living History Encampments: Set up at Miner’s Park (106 Carson St.), offering the public free access to view tents, a field kitchen, medical practices, and speak with reenactors.
Battle Trains: The Virginia & Truckee Railroad operates battle trains where passengers watch Union and Confederate soldiers stage combat scenarios directly from their seats.
Parades & Street Skirmishes: Reenactments spill into the heart of town along C Street, around the Bucket of Blood, culminating in the city's annual Labor Day Parade.
Virginia City Victorian High Tea: Come join us for tea and treats at the historic Silver Queen. We will have speakers discussing the trains during the Silver War, music by the American Historical Brass Band, and a fashion show exhibiting civil war gowns and dress with explanation of how they came to be.

Graeagle Civil War Days
The Civil War events feature dedicated military reenactors portraying Union and Confederate soldiers, including infantry demonstrations, mounted cavalry, and full-scale artillery.
Key details and daily highlights for the event:
Location: The meadows along Blairsden/Graeagle Road, just outside downtown Graeagle.
Mock Battles: Typically occur daily at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
Living History Encampments: Camps open in the morning for the public to tour and learn about 1860s civilian and military life.
Additional Festivities: The weekend includes the Nevada Gunfighters street shows, arts and crafts vendors, a hometown parade, and evening fireworks over the Mill Pond.
Castle Noz
Castle Noz, located in Snelling, CA, will host the American Civil War Association's (ACWA) 2nd Annual Living History and Civil War Reenactment on October 18 & 19, 2025. Visitors can explore encampments, witness battles with cannon and gun fire, and experience life in the 1860s, with gates opening at 9:00 AM daily. A school day is also available on Friday, October 17th.

Important Notes:
Leave animals at home due to gun and cannon fire.
Bring a chair or lawn blanket.

Day Three
Our third and final day’s schedule.
9 am - Camp opens
11 am - Camp closes due to the street battle
12 pm - Street battle starts at the Delta. Parade to follow.
Day Two
Here is our exciting day two schedule.
9 am - Church in the main tent.
11:20 am - Battle train leaves the station
12:30 pm - Lunch available in Camp. $5 Sandwiches and Chips
2 pm - In-Camp Tea at the Main Tent. Civilian Commander is hosting, all are welcome.
3 pm - Battle train leaves the station.
5 pm - Camp officially closes to prepare for the Ball.
7 pm - Doors open at Piper’s Opera house for the ball. Appetizers will be available, provided by Joe at Facet Jewelers and The Bonanza; and a no host bar provided by The Firehouse Saloon.
8 pm - The Grand March starts. Regular dancing to follow after the dance master releases from teaching the group.
Day One
It’s that time again! The start of our Virginia City Event, Civil War Days.
Our Day One Schedule is as follows.
9 am - Camp Opens for visitors. Come see what families and units went through during the Civil War.
11 am -Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station
11:20 am - Train leaves the station
12:30 pm - Lunch available at camp - Sandwiches, Chips, and Fruit for $5. Get your tickets from the Secretary or the Vice President.
1 pm - Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station
3 pm - Train leaves the station
5:30 pm - Dinner in camp. Burgers, Salad, Fruit for $7. Get your tickets from the Secretary or the Vice President.
6:30 pm- Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station.
7 pm - Champagne train leaves the station.

School Days
School Days! We are lucky enough to be able to have schools come and see our camp and talk to our groups about what soldiers and families went through during the Civil War.
Tickets are $2 per person. Lunch is not covered, however the Senior Center across the parking lot, offers lunch for $5 a person.
If you would like to have your school or are a homeschooler that would like to attend, please call Christian at 530-440-5638, so he can put you on the list.
