Castle Noz

Castle Noz, located in Snelling, CA, will host the American Civil War Association's (ACWA) 2nd Annual Living History and Civil War Reenactment on October 18 & 19, 2025. Visitors can explore encampments, witness battles with cannon and gun fire, and experience life in the 1860s, with gates opening at 9:00 AM daily. A school day is also available on Friday, October 17th.

  • Dates: Saturday, October 18 & Sunday, October 19, 2025 

  • Time: Gates open at 9:00 AM daily 

  • Activities: Live history encampments, battle reenactments, and food vendors 

  • Admission: $20.00 per carload or $40.00 per van (cash preferred), according to Facebook and Instagram 

  • Important Notes:

    • Leave animals at home due to gun and cannon fire. 

    • Bring a chair or lawn blanket. 

    • Food and beverages are available for purchase.

9 am - Camp opens

11 am - Camp closes due to the street battle

12 pm - Street battle starts at the Delta. Parade to follow.

Day Two

Here is our exciting day two schedule.

9 am - Church in the main tent.

11:20 am - Battle train leaves the station

12:30 pm - Lunch available in Camp. $5 Sandwiches and Chips

2 pm - In-Camp Tea at the Main Tent. Civilian Commander is hosting, all are welcome.

3 pm - Battle train leaves the station.

5 pm - Camp officially closes to prepare for the Ball.

7 pm - Doors open at Piper’s Opera house for the ball. Appetizers will be available, provided by Joe at Facet Jewelers and The Bonanza; and a no host bar provided by The Firehouse Saloon.

8 pm - The Grand March starts. Regular dancing to follow after the dance master releases from teaching the group.

Day One

It’s that time again! The start of our Virginia City Event, Civil War Days.

Our Day One Schedule is as follows.

9 am - Camp Opens for visitors. Come see what families and units went through during the Civil War.

11 am -Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station

11:20 am - Train leaves the station

12:30 pm - Lunch available at camp - Sandwiches, Chips, and Fruit for $5. Get your tickets from the Secretary or the Vice President.

1 pm - Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station

3 pm - Train leaves the station

5:30 pm - Dinner in camp. Burgers, Salad, Fruit for $7. Get your tickets from the Secretary or the Vice President.

6:30 pm- Fort Point Garrison Brass Band starts playing at the V & T Railroad Station.

7 pm - Champagne train leaves the station.

School Days

School Days

School Days! We are lucky enough to be able to have schools come and see our camp and talk to our groups about what soldiers and families went through during the Civil War.

Tickets are $2 per person. Lunch is not covered, however the Senior Center across the parking lot, offers lunch for $5 a person.

If you would like to have your school or are a homeschooler that would like to attend, please call Christian at 530-440-5638, so he can put you on the list.

If you would like to volunteer, please call Christian and schedule.
